Brief Biography of the Organizer:

Assoc.Prof. Dr. Lale Balas received the B.Sc. from Civil Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey) and the M.Sc. and the Ph.D.in the field of Coastal Engineering from Civil Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University. She has published more than 100 papers in International Journals and Conferences. She has received the award of best thesis of Prof. Dr. M.N. Parlar Education and Research Foundation. She is working as a full time professor at Civil Engineering Department of Gazi University since 1999. She has a great experience in coastal engineering research projects. She is a fellow of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
