Authors: Fenghua Wang, Jiuqiang Han, Xianghua Yao

Abstract: Fusion of multiple algorithms for biometric verification performance improvement has received considerable attention. This paper proposes an iris recognition method based on multialgorithmic fusion. The proposed method combines the phase information based algorithm and zero-crossing representation based algorithm at the matching score level. The fusion rule based on support vector machine (SVM) is applied to generate a fused score which is used to make the final decision. The experimental results on CASIA and UBIRIS iris image databases show that the proposed multialgorithmic fusion method can bring obvious performance improvement compared with any single algorithm, and the results also demonstrate that the fusion rule based on SVM can achieve better performance than conventional l fusion rules.

Abstract: There are some tools that help system administrators administer machines and networks using graphical user interface and Web interface. This paper presents a Web-based system that automates some processes to connect machines to a network, create accounts, mount remote home directories, set mailing lists, and so on by cooperating with multiple servers, and describes its implementation. By introducing this novel system, a lot of task has been reduced compared with the conventional administrative tasks, and it has become easier for users to create and change their own accounts and connect their machines to the network without login.

Abstract: A variety of rich client technologies such as Flash, Flex, OpenLaszlo, JavaScript, AJAX, and Applet have been employed to develop Web applications. They can display flexible and powerful graphical user interface inWeb pages and excel the original functions ofWeb browsers that display HTML documents. This paper presents a rich-component definition method that enables programmers to easily write Web pages that contain rich components, regardless of the types of rich clients. This separates Web programming from Web page design, and we can share Web application development with other developers.

Abstract: This paper presents a method that enables programmers to easily define and customize verification items for Web applications. In this method, we first specify verification conditions using regular expressions to indicate a part of code of interest, and if it is against a verification item, this method provides a mechanism to automatically correct that code using another expression. In addition, to make it possible to easily define complicated verification items that check a sequence of the pieces of program code that appear at multiple locations of the programs, the method provides several program interfaces with which we can check the part of the program code of interest in more detail.

Title of the Paper: A Growing Network Model with High Hub Connectivity and Tunable Clustering Coefficient

Authors:Yihjia Tsai, Ping-Nan Hsiao

Abstract: The paper investigates a model for social network based on a growing network. The model we propose can fit the following two basic properties: (1) ‘scale-free property’ which has power law degree distribution, and (2) ‘small-world property’ which has high clustering coefficient. In addition, the model is modified for high hub connectivity which is a new concept in scale-free network. This study also provided an analysis of empirical data.

Keywords: Social network model, growing network, scale-free, small-world, complex network.
